Overview:  The Ethan Allen Homestead Museum is a public 501c3 that operates an historical and educational museum within the Ethan Allen Homestead Park, a public park that is owned and operated by the Winooski Valley Park District. The EAHM is staffed primarily by volunteers and relies on private donations to fund its educational & preservationist mission.

The Museum:
Step back in time to the 18th century at the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum! Come see what everyday life was like on the New England frontier during and after the American Revolution. Museum admission includes access to exhibits, a guided tour of the restored 1787 Allen House, a 15-minute film on Revolutionary War veteran & Vermont founder Ethan Allen, a kid’s costume corner, tavern toys & games, and access to our recreated 18th century colonial garden. The Museum also hosts a gift shop featuring Vermont artisan products and historical books and toys.

The Park:
The Ethan Allen Homestead Park is a public park owned and operated by the Winooski Valley Park District. The park maintains public hiking and cycling trails (open year round), and public paddle-boat entry points along the Winooski River, as well as community gardens, and a picnic shelter. Other major partners at the Homestead Park include Burlington Forest Preschool, which operates an outdoor-based early education center, and Alnôbaiwi, which operates indoor and outdoor Abenaki cultural facilities and public programming. Bring a picnic and spend the day at this beautiful site just north of downtown Burlington!
