Free family-friendly festival highlighing 250 years of the Green Mountain spirit, with family-friendly games & crafts, food vendors, live music, face painting, & more. Special 250th anniversary address with rifle salute at 12:45pm. Co-sponsored with Chittenden County Historical Association & the City of Burlington, & partnerships with 30+ community organizations.

August 15, 2026: Fanny’s Day
11am-2pm
Flax harvest, guided nature walk, garden crafts, Fanny reenactor — find out what life was like for women in the late 1700s.
September 26, 2026: Vermont Archaeology Day
11am-2pm
See a live (mini) archaeological dig, view & touch archaeological artifacts, & play the archaeological-themed scavenger hunt for a prize! Then visit the historic Allen House to learn what everyday life was like 200 years ago from an historic reenactor.
October 17, 2026: Flaxtravaganza!
11am-2pm
A fall harvest reenactment, with a special focus on flax fiber processing. Snack on hot apple cider heated over the open fire and cookies, then tour the historic Allen House, view the exhibits, and get dressed up in the costumer corner for an historic family photo shoot amongst the beautiful fall foliage.
October 24, 2026: Spooky Stories at the Homestead
5:00-8:00pm (*not free, ticketed event)
Join us on a spooky tour of the homestead, with three stops where reenactors tell spooky stories from the past by the glow of the fire

Benjamin Whitcomb’s Independent Corps of Rangers re-create the life style of the Rangers in the War of Independence, 1776-1781.

Warner’s Extra-Continetntal Regiment AKA THE GREEN MOUNTAIN BOYS recreates the equipment, military tactics, living conditions, & history of the soldiers and civilians in the American War for Independence.
