How to book a field trip:
Fill out our FIELD TRIP REQUEST FORM and email it to education@ethanallenhomestead.org.


Standard field trip: Life in the 18th-century (adaptable for various age groups)
Museum staff welcome & orientation
Guided tour of the restored 18th-century Allen House (hands-on!) 30-minutes
Self guided stations: 30-minutes per station, choose some or all
18th-century toys & clothes (hands-on!, indoors)
Abenaki Village (outdoor structures w/activity sheet)
Who Were the Green Mountain Boys & Girls? (exhibit panels w/activity sheet)
Revolution in Vermont (art & history exhibit w/activity sheets)

Free add-ons to the standard field trip:
Nature Bingo on the hiking trails (activity sheet)
Covered outdoor picnic shelter for lunches (needs to be pre-booked)
An opportunity to shop in our gift shop
15-minute films on Ethan Allen & Fanny Allen Penniman

Customize your field trip!
Please tell us what your learning targets are and we will customize your field trip for your group. We have done custom field trips around historical cooking methods, the Revolutionary War, gardening, historical artifacts, community service projects, how museums work, and more. Depending on the customization, additional staffing fees may apply.
